Re: Executing Commands through Http

I expanded the 00.01 firmware update partition and extracted the php file... you should be able to just copy/paste it back... /var/www/set_dev_value.php <?php $nodeId = $_POST['nodeId']; $attrId = $_POST['attrId']; $v = $_POST['value']; //$who = exec('whoami'); //echo $who; //passthru("sudo ls&...

Re: Rooting out of the box

I suppose it depends on what level they're shipping with today, do you know?

I think the update boot should still be rootable... but can be tricky to root it and get in before it completes the update process and reboots on its own.

Re: Rooting ANY firmware level... the hard way

Next chance I get, I'll try to run through the process with the various firmware level hubs I have.

Re: Howto update to 00.89

From the latest firmware check link http://wink-hub-images.s3.amazonaws.com/00.01/upgrade_00.01.txt still show 00.86 is the latest. Is 00.89 only for hub that need to be recover from the last upgrade problem? I tried to upgrade but firmware stay at 00.86. I also did the reset to factory and keep ro...

Re: Howto update to 00.89

I followed this procedure on a 00.33 hub and am now at 00.86. Do I have to do it again to get to 00.89? That is an excellent question... My initial instinct was to say yes... but, I thought it through and there is really no reason you need to, as long as... [*] /database/authorized_keys # contains ...

Re: Database

From a programmers perspective, value_get will get the value and vakue_set will set the value. I'd have to look at the code to know for sure. As another guess, I would think the set value would be set immediately when a change is requested, and any set and get values that don't match will trigger t...

Rooting ANY firmware level... the hard way

It would appear there is a method to root any functioning wink hub (haven't tried it on a link hub yet) but it is a bit more complicated. The process requires: *disassembling the hub (removing four torx screws) *USB to TTL serial adapter (available for under $5 shipped on eBay, just needs Ground, RX...

Re: Solid white error after upgrading to 0.86

If you're familiar with the TTL cable, I'd say open the hub up and watch it boot. Alternatively, I'd check your router to see if it's getting a dhcp address, see if you can ping it, and in the off chance that's it's booting from the update partition and at least has network connectivity, you should ...
